FAQ

SnapBadges FAQ

Name Tags

Do you charge setup fees or have a minimum order?
No. SnapBadges never charges setup fees, design fees, or artwork fees. There are no minimums either. Order one name tag or a thousand. You pay the same low price per tag either way. Every tag is made to order in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan and ships across Canada.

Magnetic or pin name tags, which is better?
Magnetic works best for most workplaces. It holds securely and leaves no holes in clothing. Pick magnetic for offices, retail, salons, dental and medical clinics, and hotels. Pick pin for the lowest cost or a more secure hold on thick fabric. One exception: choose pin if you or a team member has a pacemaker. Magnets can interfere with the device.

How long do custom name tags take?
Most orders ship within 3 to 5 business days of proof approval. We make every tag to order in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, then ship across Canada. Need it faster for a new hire or event? Ask about rush production.

What size are name tags?
The standard size is 1.5 by 3 inches. It fits a name, a job title, and a small logo. Choose 1 by 3 inches for a sleek, name-only look, or go larger for more text or a bigger logo.

Can I reorder a single name tag for a new hire?
Yes. Order one replacement tag any time, no minimum and no setup fee. We keep your design on file, so a new hire's tag matches your team exactly.

Name Plates

What is the difference between a desk name plate and a door name plate?
A desk name plate sits on a desk or counter so visitors see who they are meeting. A door or wall name plate mounts outside an office or room. Desk plates use a holder or wedge. Door and wall plates mount flat with screws or adhesive.

Can I replace just the insert when someone changes?
Yes. Keep the holder and order a new insert with the updated name or title. This is the low-cost way to handle staff changes.

What are standard name plate sizes?
The two standard sizes are 2 by 8 inches for door and wall plates, and 2 by 10 inches for desk plates. Custom sizes are available.

Are your name plates engraved or printed?
Both. Choose laser engraved brushed aluminum for a clean, classic look, or full colour for logos and brand colours. We also do custom colours and artwork on request.

How do door name plates mount?
Every door name plate comes with screw holes and adhesive backing included, so you can mount it either way.

Badge Holders

Vertical or horizontal badge holder, which do I need?
Match the holder to your card. Use vertical for tall cards with the photo above the name. Use horizontal for wide cards with the photo beside the name. The slot must sit at the top, or the badge will flip on a lanyard.

What is the difference between the two badge holders you sell?
The Full Color Name Badge Holder shows name and job title. The Photo ID Badge Holder adds your employee's photo, ideal for healthcare, security, and schools.

How do I submit names, titles, and photos?
Upload your logo, employee photos if needed, and a list of names and job titles using the fields on the product page. Prefer email? Send your files to dale@snapbadges.ca after ordering.

Do badge holders come with a lanyard?
No. All badge holders use a secure pocket clip. Most companies already have their own branded lanyards, so we keep it simple with clip-only.

General & Ordering

Do I get a proof before you make my order?
Yes. We send a free digital proof on every custom order. Nothing goes into production until you approve it.

Do you ship across Canada?
Yes. SnapBadges makes every order in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan and ships across Canada. No customs delays, no border fees, no currency surprises.

What logo file format do you need?
Vector files work best, .ai, .eps, or .pdf. High resolution .png or .jpg at 300 DPI or higher also works. Engraved products need one colour black and white art.

What is your return policy on custom orders?
Every item is custom made, so we can't accept returns for buyer's remorse. If a product arrives defective or we made an error, contact us right away and we will fix it.
